Mexico Honeymoon

Cancun Mexico

My biggest recommendation this year for travel is Cancun, Mexico. What an amazing time! Every now and again while on the laptop, I look through the pictures and videos just to escape the English Clouds I see from my widow.

We stayed at REFLECT CANCUN on an all inclusive plan which was amazing because we had no worries when it came to food or drinks. Even after a night out, we mostly found ourselves ordering room service at all hours of the night. The staff were always polite and understanding. One thing to remember though is to tip the staff; they really deserve it. In my opinion, Reflect Cancun is the best hotel to stay in Cancun because it is located right at the tip of Cancun (check out the link above). There are about 5 different restaurants and plenty of bars and pools to cool off the scorching heat on site so if you like your holiday undisturbed and in one place, Reflect is awesome. Untitled design (9)

Now bear in mind we went to Cancun in September, Rainy season in Mexico. I had brought my umbrella and had even pestered my new husband to bring a raincoat (he refused lol) and no matter how much it rained elsewhere in Mexico or Cancun even, it did not rain where we were!! Part of this I’m sure is just God because I prayed for excellent weather and we got excellent weather. Why don’t you go and let me know what you think.

Great for: Fun Excursions, Water Parks and dirt/ quad biking/ zip lining and of course the beautiful beach. I’m not even being biased because we were already in a happy mood being that it was our honeymoon but Mexico was simply amazing.

We went to the breathtaking Xel Ha (pronounced Shel Ha), an aquatic Water Theme Park where you can snorkel in the jungle, swim with the fish, swim in the caves and water slide at the same time.  So you pay about $150 US for 2 people from one of the little cabins outside a hotel and receive free transport to and from and ALL INCLUSIVE DRINKS, AND ALL YOU CAN EAT FOOD INCLUDING BREAKFAST!! My bargaining skills got us the all inclusive tickets for the two of us $90US! Don’t be afraid to haggle a bit. Another reason why I give Xel Ha the thumbs up is that I’m not what you would call a swimmer. I mean I can just about save my life and it would be good to have an idea of what swimming is…but all safety equipment is readily available and mostly mandatory. Even on the tall water slide, there are staff at the bottom to help if you’re not too good in the water..which reminds me of an ‘experience’ I had with my very African mum in Tenerife at a water Park… Why don’t I save that one for another day.

Xel Ha, Tropical Paradise

Bad for: If you don’t like sun and heat, MEXICO IS HOTT..But this is why people travel to tropical destinations though right? Anyway I love it so I’m not complaining. I still have a serious swimsuit tan from September and we’re heading for the end of November.

Love: The beach. You can shop and shop and shop. Many designer shops and malls. There is plenty to do. The food is great.

Dislike: The idolatry is too much for me being that it’s not in tune with my beliefs. I found it difficult to buy gifts to take back home because everything had skeletons, skulls or some kind of idol/ god/godess… Not for me.

Honeymoon with my best friend

Reflection:Marriage is such a good thing.  I am now my best friend’s wife. God please help me to be a good helper and lover to my husband. May our marriage be just as you intended and purposed for husband and wife before even the foundations of the earth were made.
